About Carl




Carl Kinsman was born in South Tyneside, England. At the age of 17 Carl moved to Ireland and became one of the UK and Ireland's Youngest National DJs under the name of 'Jo King’. Carl broadcast on the UK's Largest Commercial Radio Station, Atlantic 252. During that time in the 90's, the station was at it's peak with a weekly reach between 5 and 6 million and was the second most profitable station in the UK after Capital in London during the Chris Tarrant breakfast times. 

Carl was also a presenter on Metro Radio in Tyne & Wear, England when it had one of the strongest presenter line ups and was one of the biggest stations outside London. Others include Fashion FM, Glasgow, Scotland, TFM in Teeside and Cool FM / Downtown Radio in Northern Ireland. In 2004 Carl presented the No-1 Breakfast show on Cool FM (Bigger than all Commercial and BBC) and achieved the highest listening figures the show ever had.  Carl was both Downtown Radio and Cool FM's Station Imaging Producer for 10 years. Carl is now Manager of the production department and Group Head of Station Sound at Q Radio which broadcasts all across Northern Ireland.  

In the 2000's Carl and wife Olga broadcast on stations all over the world presenting a syndicated show together called 'U-Jamz' playing positive Rap, Hip Hop and Rhythmic music. It was heard on radio stations in America, Canada, Australia and the UK.
